MUSACO is a small workers cooperative in Kegalle, west-central Sri Lanka. We make beautiful, ecofriendly handicrafts from banana fibre. Sri Lanka produces a lot of bananas. Every year, tons of harvested banana trees are left to rot. By upcycling them, and turning them into banana fibre, they can be reborn as bags and other products. The work we do helps to support our members, many of whom have disabilities, or family members with disabilities .
